Is it Important to Instill Character Education in Children?

What is character education? Formally character education has the definition of a systematic education. System is planned to educate empower and develop the potential of students to build their personal character, so that they can grow into individuals who can benefit themselves, their families, and the surrounding environment. We believe that education is a very important thing in this world, because the world needs educated people in order to develop a developed country. It may be said that the character is also prioritized because people today not only look at how high the education or degree he has achieved, but also on the character of each person. There are several reasons that make character education very important to be instilled in children.

In the first statement, it is the best way to guarantee the children can have good personalities in their lives. Character education is an education that is essentially moral. Where it can provide guidance to a child to become an individual who is better in personality, so it is very important for us as parents to instill character education such as honesty, discipline, kindness, sympaty, ability to raise up and saving early on to children, then later when they grow up these behaviors remain embedded in their minds and are implemented in their lives. Because character is a reflection of one's personality. Secondly, preparing students to respect other parties or people and be able to live in a diverse society. Children who are raised with the right character education will certainly spread the positive feelings in their environment and relationships. It could be that make it easier for them to get along and communicate with others well and in a more respectful way of course.

Third, is a way to improve academic achievement. Character education can be one of indicate as a support to  achieving good academic grades,if the child instills disciplinary, diligent values which are character values themselves will facilitate them to achieve good academic grades. therefore we can assume that between character and academic education must be balanced .

It can be concluded that character education is very important. Because character education itself is a process of character formation that has a positive impact on one's emotional development, spirituality, and personality. One of the cultivation of character education is to make the nation and yourself become more civilized, because the progress of a nation and the good and bad of a nation one of which is determined by humans. If humans are of good character, the nation will also create a good civilization.
